LYN NAGEL, a member of the Screen Actors’ Guild and the Actors’ Equity Association, is very pleased to be back in Southbury where she grew up to teach private voice lessons at Southbury Music School!
Miss Nagel has been a professional performer since the age of 9, performing on Broadway, the silver screen, television, and radio. Just some of her professional performing experience includes: Broadway – Carousel (Abigail Snow); Regional Theatre – I Married Wyatt Earp (Hattie Earp, World Premiere Production), Ragtime (Brigit, Corrine, Italian Immigrant, Henry Ford Worker), Peter Pan, and Evita; Other Theatre Credits – The Secret Garden (Mary Lennox), Jekyll & Hyde (Lucy), Westside Story (Maria), The Seagull (Nina), You Can’t Take It With You (Alice Sycamore), Simple Pleasures (Madeleine, World Premiere Production), Two By Two (Esther), Winesburg, Ohio (Helen White, East Coast Premiere Production), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Hermia), Hair (Diane), The Miracle Worker (Katie Keller), The Rhimers of Eldritch (Mary Windrod), Ragtime (Houdini’s Mother, Immigrant), The Producers (Featured Dancer, Dance Captain), and about 50 more; Film – Joe the King (Jenny); and Television – Ed (Jennifer Baumgarten) and Guiding Light. Miss Nagel’s voice can be heard on numerous radio commercials advertising for products such as Skittles, Starburst, and Jolly Rancher Fruit Chews.
Lyn Nagel received her BFA in musical theatre performance at The Hartt School, graduating magna cum laude in 2005. She also received her music teaching certification for pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade through the ARC Program in 2008. Miss Nagel is currently the choral director at Holy Cross High School in Waterbury, CT. Miss Nagel is also an active participant with the Waterbury Chorale and St. Rose of Lima Church Adult Choir, both under the direction of Joseph J. Jacovino, Jr. During her time with the Chorale, she has been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to be featured in many of the concerts that the Chorale has presented, including singing the title song for their annual “Christmas at the Palace” concert in 2007 written by Mr. Jacovino, narrating their “Broadway Sings” concert in the Spring of 2009, and sang as one of the featured soloists in the Waterbury Chorale concert entitled A Mass For Peace in Our Time. She also sings with the Connecticut Master Chorale, under the direction of Tina Heidrich.
